Cashback shopping sites are excellent ways to earn some extra money. They’re not new at all, but they’ve increased in popularity over the last year. With more and more people now looking for ways to save money, cashback websites are a great way to make some savings.

Cashback sites work by giving you a small percentage of money back when you purchase something through their link. The cashback amounts vary with each purchase and location, but it’s usually between 1-5%, depending on what you buy and where you buy it.

You may think 1-5% isn’t much money, but it adds up over time. Soon, you’ll have enough for an Amazon gift card or even a few dollars to transfer into your PayPal account.

GetUpside is our favorite app for getting cash back on gas. Plus, it’s expanding into grocery stores now too!

The app can find nearby gas stations with the highest cashback rewards. Then, you must scan your receipt after filling it up to claim your cashback rewards. It’s that easy!

Capital One Shopping (up to 20% Cash Back)

Capital One Shopping is a free browser extension that automatically applies coupons when shopping online at over 2,500 retailers like Walmart and Amazon.

Ebates

Ebates (now Rakuten) is a well-known cashback site that rewards you with cash for shopping online and in-store with qualifying purchases.

You can also get cashback through Ebates by clicking on the link to a retailer site from Ebates.com before buying anything online or by using the Ebates browser extension when shopping online. Thanks to its recent acquisition by Rakuten, you can still earn Ebates cash back at most of your favorite stores, but now with a new name:

MyPoint

MyPoints is another cashback site that shares similarities with Ebates (now Rakuten), if you shop online through MyPoints, you’ll earn redeemable points for gift cards and PayPal cash.

You can also score cashback on your Barnes & Noble and Staples purchases. And if you’re more into traveling than shopping, you can also get cashback when booking travel at Hotels.com, Orbitz, and Expedia.

Shop at Home

Shop at Home is a cashback site with partnerships with more than 2,000 online retailers like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. You can earn up to 40% cashback on your favorite stores and restaurants, such as Old Navy and Starbucks.

CashBack

If you’re looking for a site with the most retailers and offers the highest rebates, TopCashBack is the one!

The repayments can be up to 30% sometimes, and they make their payments twice a month, so you don’t have to wait too long for your money. They also offer bonuses every month if you reach certain thresholds.

Extrabux

While Extrabux doesn’t have as many retailers as TopCashBack, it’s still my favorite cashback site because of its user-friendly interface and easy-to-use shopping cart function.

Their rebate rates are usually lower than TopCashBack’s, but it does offer special promo codes and coupons for additional savings. The payment processing is fast, too, with weekly or monthly payments that never took more than 3 days.
